Bo really grew the last two weeks! I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday to do the glucose test. Not really excited about the test, but I am excited about hearing Bo’s heartbeat again!

What A Difference Three Weeks Makes

I was supposed to take my picture last Tuesday. Well obviously that didn’t happen, so I went ahead and took one tonight. Waiting three weeks does make the change more dramatic.

We’ve finally decided on a first and middle name, after going back and forth on the middle name. Bo David Bass will be here on or around April 24th, which after looking closely at my calendar is Easter!

Physically I feel pretty good. I can’t stand or sit very long unless I have a pillow behind my back. Another interesting thing happened last Monday night. I normally sleep on my sides, but Monday it felt like my stomach was pulling on my side and felt really heavy. Needless to say I had to start sleeping with a pillow tucked to my side. I have improved upon that set-up by now having a pillow on each side, so I don’t have to switch the pillow when I roll over. It’s kind of nice to sleep with all these comfy pillows encasing me. For now it works. I’m sure something will come up and changes will have to be made with my sleep design.

Nursery Theme: I have figured it out!

I have had several people ask me what type of nursery theme I’m doing. I have some ideas, but nothing that really went together. Well, I have figured it out! I want to do a forest theme plus dogs (of course) . Here are some of the things I found that I really like. Now I just have to make them or find where they are sold.

I’ve been pretty lazy about posting pictures lately. Here are weeks 18, 20, and 22. It doesn’t look like much of a change. A lot of people say that I still look really small. I guess it depends on the person.

The Secret is Out!

Well the cat is out of the bag. My class now knows I’m pregnant. The Spanish teacher today tells me congratulations and a girl in my class (who’s mom has 6 kids) ask me what for. I ignored her, but after everyone had sat down, she stands up and asks, “Mrs. Bass are you pregnant?”. There were many gasps and now one could believe she ask me that, so I went ahead and told them. They were all really excited and told me I didn’t look pregnant. Which I guess means that I could gain 8lbs. of bowling ball looking fat in my stomach and they would think it was normal. Then they were all very serious and were worried about who was going to take the class while I was gone. I told them I would only be gone the very last part of the year and they were relieved. It’s all very cute, except for the girl who kept asking me questions and using the word “pregnant”, which was a little creepy. “Mrs. Bass, so since your PREGNANT you haven’t been married very long.” ME: “No, I’ve been married for four years.” HER: “So you’re very excited to be PREGNANT.” ME: “Yep.” This whole time I’m thinking, “You are creepy!” What 8 year old keeps using that word? Shouldn’t they say “having a baby?” None of them had heard of the name Bo, except for little Bo Peep. The day ended with a little girl telling me that “That baby hasn’t made you fat at all!”. Well thanks. I guess you’re only pregnant when your stomach is as big as a hot air balloon. Lol – I have such a great class. I’ll keep you updated with all of the funny 3rd grade “pregnant” stories.

Two weeks later

It really and truly does not feel like I’m growing, but after looking at these two pictures that are two weeks apart, am I a little. I think I look a little more round. I’ve been feeling movement for a few weeks now, but it’s so sporadic. Movement one day and then nothing for a few days. It’s very unnerving. I’m ready for something more consistent. Tomorrow is the big day when we find out what we’re having – hopefully! He or she better cooperate!

Some days I feel like, “Whoa! I’m growing!” and then I must get used to it because I start to think I’m not growing at all. Well obviously I am! The second picture is today at 16 weeks and I look kind of annoyed because David had to take a lot of pics to get a good one. I took the picture with my phone which is way easier to transfer to the computer, but not as good a picture as my camera. Oh well.

It’s been quite a while since I last posted anything to the blog and the reason being I was too preoccupied with my big secret. I’m pregnant! I’m a little over 14 weeks. After visiting the doctor last Friday and everything looking great, I felt confident (kinda) to share the news. I’m still very nervous, but I know that I just have to trust God. He’ll do what’s best. I’m due April 24 and every two weeks we’ve been taking belly pictures. Not too much change you can see in the pictures, but I can tell a big difference. Thank you for all who have been praying. Please keep it up!

I’m getting so smart!

It’s amazing what you learn about reproduction when you have fertility problems. It’s also amazing how little people know when they’ve had no problems. Here is a list of things I’ve learned in the last year.

1. There is a certain time during the month when you get pregnant. (I knew this, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t)

2. You only have about a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month IF you try at the right time AND if you don’t have fertility problems.

3. LOTS of things affect fertility. Lack of folic acid, lack of progesterone, lack of iron, too much iron, and on and on.

4. “You’ll get pregnant when you’re not thinking about it.” Since when do you NOT think about getting pregnant when you’re trying hard to get pregnant.

5. Just because an ovulation prediction kit says you will ovulate in the next 24 to 36 hrs. doesn’t mean you will. (Just figured this out today. Kit went positive on Sunday and Dr. said won’t ovulate until Thurs. or Fri.)

6. Follicles growing really hurts. Those pains are not ovulation, just follicles growing.

7. Follicles look like balloons and hold eggs until the eggs break through and then the follicle looks like a deflated balloon.

8. Most cycles most people only have one mature follicle that will release an egg. (This month I have two! BUT since I’m not getting an HCG trigger shot I won’t know if both “balloons” popped)

9. It’s crazy how hard it is to get pregnant.

10. It’s crazy how easily some people can get pregnant.

I’ve learned a lot more than this, but it’s a little depressing because it would show how much time I waste looking up all this stuff online. I’m sure there will be more to come. Pray for me and my little eggies.

Another School Dream

So I woke up this morning feeling panicked and stressed out. That can only mean one thing, another school dream. In this one my classroom was a storage room. It was small (very small) and had a lot of fold-up tables still stored in it. I had come in to start setting it up when to my surprise the kids showed up! I thought I had at least several days to get it ready, but no here they all came – all 30 of them!!! It went down hill from there. While the kids were out at recess some lady comes in saying she was teaching in this room too and that we need to share it. We weren’t going to be team teaching, but she was going to have her own class in the same room. Mind you I already had 30 kids in a tiny room. I can’t explain to you how she was weird, but this lady was crazy psycho. She was in the room for like 10 mins. and I already wanted to punch her in the face.
I was still trying to get the room ready while the kids were out at recess when water started dripping from the ceiling onto my desk. I looked up at the ceiling and the tiles were sagging under the weight of the water. I quickly removed the computer right before the tiles caved in and gallons of water fell everywhere. Just then the janitor comes in kind of crying saying he can’t help me because he threw his neck out and can’t lift anything. He points to the pile of folded tables that has suddenly tripled in size. The tiles above the pile of tables sagged and gave way to another gush of water. By that time I was completely overwhelmed and just left the room meeting up with some other teachers, telling them I was going to get a job at another school if they thought I was going to teach in that closet. I thankfully woke up and was very relieved it was all a dream. I HATE having school dreams. So stressful!
